A FEW MINUTES OF YOUR TIME FOR A LIFETIME OF FREEDOM

E-mail Print PDF
Yesterday another speaking engagement was arranged in Edmond, Oklahoma for today.  We had a speaking engagement this evening in Edmond, Oklahoma.  The people were very gracious.  There are two additional engagements this week in Arkansas.  The morning started with an impromptu meeting with a young man at a restaurant.  Long story short-The young man belongs to a group of other young people that communicate online.  He asked if he could have an interview.  Two minutes later he was hooked up with a web-camera and doing the interview.  As it turned out he supported Congressman Ron Paul.  He was in the IHOP eating and working on his computer when the waitress sat me down at the next table.  He started talking to me and the rest is history as we say.

Please read this document and appreciate our going state to state and to Washington D.C. is costly.  We have a proven track record of success.  We need your support to continue our efforts.  We have now been in 9 states in the last 30 days.  We have many more to visit in October.

Today's update is in direct response to appeals from citizens to provide the information in the format below.

In each update we stress our non partisan approach.  Political affiliation, gender, race, age and religious preference do not determine whether a person can or should join the Stop Real ID Coalition or the Constitutional Alliance.  All American citizens are welcome.

We want to dispel the notion only a few states are opposed to the Real ID Act http://www.realnightmare.com/news/105/  Over 22 states either have passed anti-Real ID laws or resolutions.

Both the ACLU and the ACLJ are opposed to the Real ID Act.   Our Coalition has met personally with the ACLU and the ACLJ.  The ACLU has been opposed to Real ID before it was ever signed into law.  After our meeting with the ACLJ the created a 117 page document that articulates the many reasons to be opposed to Real ID.  Within our "action packet" located under our "download center" on the homepage you can find letters from state lawmakers thanking the Stop Real ID Coalition for helping to assist in bringing the ACLU and the ACLJ together in opposition to Real ID.

Over 600 groups oppose Real ID http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070409-more-state-governments-defy-congress-and-reject-real-id.html  This previous link is to a 2007 article.  The numbers are growing.  Many religious groups/faiths are opposed to Real ID.  We provide a link to a Google search on the issue.  You will find Christians, Jews, Moslems and many others oppose Real ID http://aolsearch.aol.com/aol/search?s_it=topsearchbox.search&query=religious+groups+faiths+opposed+to+real+id+act  This link discusses biblical prophecy http://www.boston.com/news/local/maine/articles/2007/03/11/biblical_prophecy_finds_way_to_legislators_in_battle_over_id_plan/

First we must start with a fundamental premise and substantiate the premise.  The premise is twofold-One, the federal government is collecting, maintaining and sharing American's information globally.  Two, The Real ID Act facilitates the collecting, maintaining and sharing of information.  REAL ID ENROLLS AMERICANS INTO A SINGLE GLOBAL BIOMETRIC IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM THAT LINKS A PERSON'S BODY TO THEIR ABILITY TO BUY, SELL AND TRAVEL.

Those of you that have followed the Stop Real ID Coalition know we support what we say with facts.  We oppose those that support Real ID when they use fear mongering as a tactic.  We admit that there is a real need for a more secure State driver's license.  We also understand not authenticating breeder documents such as birth certificates is a vulnerability that terrorists will exploit.  We support the men in women in our military, law enforcement and intelligence agencies.  Those people who say things such "as when a person drives from one state to another they will not be allowed in the other state if they do not have a Real ID compliant driver's license are hurting the total effort against Real ID.  There is no such restriction about driving from one state to another.  There maybe someday but there is not now and to say there is amounts to fear mongering by those who oppose Real ID.  The facts about Real ID are horrific enough.  If those that oppose Real ID do not use facts then when the public hears the reasons to oppose Real ID, the public will discount the true or factual reasons to oppose Real ID.

We, at the Stop Real ID Coalition do not focus on whom is to blame or what political party is to blame.  There is plenty of blame to spread around.  First, the bleeding must be stopped.  Identify there is a wrong taking place and stop it.  If there is an intentional effort to violate the Constitution or in the case of companies to avoid their responsibilities then deal with that after the bleeding has been stopped.

The following links and information corroborate there is a deliberate effort to collect and share American's most personal information.  Further we can and should be expect that our personal information is being shared with other governments.  Please allow for download times when clicking on a link.  Our own web-site is experiencing longer download times for some documents.  We prefer to use PDF documents.  It is very easy to go to directly to the pertinent page without having to read the entire document.  This is the way people have told us they like to receive documents.  When we do not use PDF documents we supply a web link to a specific story that corroborates a point we make or fact we state.

We appreciate when you, the people, send us articles or information.  We never claim to know it "all".  People such as yourselves have sent us very useful information.

1)  Real ID is being implemented by an international organization, AAMVA (American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators).  AAMVA is named the "hub" and "backbone" of the Real ID Act 2005 by the Department of Homeland Security.  http://www.eff.org/files/filenode/realid/real_id_final_rule_part1_2008-01-11.pdf  page 18 of the PDF document.  Our federal government and no state has jurisdiction over AAMVA.

2)  ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization), an agency of the United Nations, adopted standards for the use of facial recognition technology are the standard for the digital facial image/photo required by the Real ID Act.  Facial recognition maps your face, converts your biometric sample, the photo, to numbers which results in you facial image mathematically being stored in a database.  The standard called for is hidden in the NPRM (Notice of Proposed Rulemaking) issued by the DHS.  http://www.stoprealidcoalition.com/index2.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=12  page 68 footnote 17, at the bottom of page 68.  Nearly no state or national lawmakers understood the significance of the aforementioned footnote.  Even today many groups that are opposed to Real ID call Real ID a national ID card.  It is much more given the standards for Real ID and the organizations that played a role in U.S. policy, law and the implementing of the law, Real ID Act 2005.  Real ID is international ID.  It's sister, the EDL (Enhanced Driver's License) is used in lieu of passports.

3)  AAMVA now includes Canada and the United States.  The organization works with countries across the globe.  The agreement that calls for the sharing of information between the provinces of Canada and States of the United States is called the DLC (Driver's License Compact).  In 1994 when NAFTA was passed AAMVA started discussing enlarging AAMVA's jurisdiction to include Mexico.  http://www.aamva.org/KnowledgeCenter/Driver/Compacts/History+of+the+DLA.htm  The tool for this new agreement is called the DLA (Driver's License Agreement)  http://www.numbersusa.com/PDFs/AAMVA%20Driver%20License%20Agreement%20text.pdf  page 4, item 11 jurisdiction
Most lawmakers and citizens are not aware that taxpayer dollars have been used to support this single jurisdiction of Mexico, Canada and the United States.  Yes, two years ago, the National Highway Traffic Safety Counsel started offering grant money to states to "bribe" or encourage the states to participate in AAMVA's DLA.  We have a letter that specifically corroborates what we sayhttp://www.ok-safe.com/files/documents/1/REAL_ID_Memo_DLA_Implementation_Funding_6-15-06.pdf

4)  DHS says the states are not required to comply with Real ID.  The following document, a comparative analysis was done that clearly shows the only "tool" currently AAMVA has to implement Real ID is the DLA.  Even the DLA must be modified slightly to meet the requirements of Real ID.  http://www.stoprealidcoalition.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=14

5)  The following in part is cut and paste is attributed to Jim Kouri who wrote an article about what Kouri calls the first North American Union driver's license:

The hologram (on a North Carolina driver's license) is a facsimile of the map of North America that is used as the background for the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America logo on the SPP (Security and Prosperity Partnership web-site. http://www.spp.gov/   Yes, SPP/North American Union is real and not just a myth as some state.  The web-site provided is not some fringe group web-site but an official web-site of the Security and Prosperity Partnership.

Marge Howell, spokeswoman for the North Carolina DMV, told the press that the state was embedding a hologram of North America on the back of their new driver's licenses. "It's a security element that eventually will be on the back of every driver's license in North America," Howell said.

Howell explained that the hologram of the North American continent was the creation of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization that, according to the group's web site, "develops model programs in motor vehicle administration, law enforcement and highway safety."

Founded in 1933, AAMVA represents state and provincial officials in the United States and Canada who administer and enforce motor vehicle laws. The government of Mexico is also a member, though the individual Mexican states have yet to join.

There is an interesting constitutional question raised when states enter into agreements with foreign governments or with individual provinces or districts of an entire country.  Article 1, Section 10 of our Constitution seems to not allow such agreements. ( http://constitutioncenter.org/files/constitution.pdf page 5)  If we had time for the courts to act this would be one issue raised.  We, at the Coalition are looking at pursuing a lawsuit against the federal government.  Our feeling as of this minute is we are experiencing success much quicker than anticipated and we can succeed in having the Real ID Act repealed long before a lawsuit will play out.

We believe that EDL's (Enhanced Driver's Licenses) are unconstitutional as well.  EDL's utilize RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology.  EDL's are used in lieu of passports to go back and forth across our borders.  EDL's are issued by state Department of Motor Vehicles.  Both the Department of Homeland Security and the State Department dictate requirements for EDL's.  Once again we have the federal government involved in the issuance of a state document, the driver's license.

What we have is the federal government "bribing" States and citizens to use EDL's when the reality is the federal government is once again "worming" it's way into the issuance of what should and must be a State document, the State driver's license.

We, our country, have an instrument(s), the passport and passport card that are federal instruments to accommodate travel from one country to another.  If the federal government has a problem of issuance related to speed, supply and cost then the federal government must be held accountable to resolve the "issues".  The EDL is worse than accommodating, it is submission.  States are trading the Tenth Amendment and other Amendments for expediency and cost savings.  Once citizens accept the use of EDL's they are either knowingly or unknowingly doing the same.  Since it is the lawmakers of a State that first acquiesce, they share the greater responsibility for this charade being that the State lawmakers send the signal to the citizens that accepting EDL's is in a citizen's best interest.  It amazes me that 30 years ago without the technology of today a person could get an emergency passport in no time.  Today, even with the technology it can take 6 months to get a passport.

I ask,  Why don't the State lawmakers and the citizens hold the federal government accountable and demand the federal government be responsible to resolve the problems on their end.  Provide for passports and passport cards to be less costly and delivered in a more timely manner?

We, the citizens, have fallen into the "trap" of wanting immediate gratification.  We do not want to be confrontational.  We want immediate results.  We know what we want and we want it now.  Thus we sacrifice our Constitutional rights.

6)  We recognize many American believe biometric such as fingerprints and facial recognition are precise or practically error proof.  Many Americans have been convicted on a crime based on no more than a single fingerprint.  Please, we ask consider the following article/evidence that specifies that one in five fingerprint experts were wrong in a study conducted.  http://www.truthinjustice.org/fingerprints.htm  How many Americans were put to death wrongly based on a single fingerprint?  An IBG (International Biometric Group) Study sponsored by AAMVA states unequivocally that when a 1 to 300 million search of digital images/photos is being done the facial recognition technology will not work.  How we ask, Can facial recognition be used or work accurately when information is shared globally, billions of people, not 300 million?  There is a greater likelihood of an error/mismatch than there is of a match.  I hope this persuades those of you who believe simply because you are doing nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about.  We have been told by IBG not to provide their document under threat of a lawsuit.  We ask, Why are they so afraid to have the truth told?  Viisage Technology, now L-1 Identity Solutions is the largest provider of biometrics including facial recognition technology in the country.  This company has made numerous false claims of success.  We provide just a couple of links to verify what we say.  http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2003/09/03/face_recognition_devices_failed_in_test_at_logan/  Viisage had claimed 90% success in that testing.  At a Super Bowl game Viisage used their technology to scan the faces of all the fans that entered the stadium.  The scanned images were then compared to facial scans of people who had active wants and warrants.  Viisage/L-1 Identity Solutions claimed great success.  The truth is not one arrest was made as a result of the facial recognition technology.  http://www.sptimes.com/News/021601/TampaBay/Face_scans_match_few_.shtml  This same company was sued for insiders selling stock prior to a negative financial report that was going to be released.  The company settled the suit.  More disturbingly this company, now L-1 will be the de-facto issuer of Real ID compliant licenses and is already involved in the production of all U.S. passports, passport cards and many programs involving DHS including the USVISIT program.  L-1 now controls nearly 95% of the State driver's license market http://www.paidcontent.org/entry/419-digimarc-sells-id-solutions-unit-to-l-1-identity-for-250-million/
Please when you have time checkout the company's Board of Directors.  We are not suggesting they have been involved in wrongdoing but are suggesting they have unduly influence on the federal government and state government.  Congress is considering putting a time limit in place before a senior person in government can go to working the private sector for a company that benefited from government contracts.  http://www.l1id.com/pages/206-board-of-directors  Have not seen enough to be outraged?  L-1 provided their technology to the Red Chinese government using a Chinese citizen as an intermediary.  L-1 knew the citizen was offering the Chinese the technology and further the citizen has been asked to use L-1's technology to identify dissidents.  Is the transfer of the technology to China illegal under federal law?  We are asking Congress to investigate.  Here is a link to the story  http://www.commondreams.org/archive/2008/05/15/8970

7)  We have all heard or read of abuses of power by agencies and departments of the federal government.  The abuse of NSL's (National Security Letters) by the FBI are as egregious as wiretapping violations or other abuses written about.
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/03/13/fbi.nsl/index.html  Even when the FBI was told many of the NSL's
were illegal or unconstitutional the FBI retained the information collected.  We want to be clear-We believe most employees of the FBI, the NSA, DHS are hardworking, loyal employees.  It is the "culture" that is corrupt.

8)  Quickly we want to address DHS's contention that the Real ID Act will reduce identity theft.  That is not true.  Most privacy experts and organizations are emphatic that identity theft will be increased.  Testimony provided to Congress  http://www.schneier.com/testimony-realid.html

9)  We also want to illustrate what happens when too much emphasis is place in identity documents.  Please keep in mind we support a more secure driver's license and the reality is that terrorists used counterfeit breeder documents (documents needed to obtain a driver's license such as birth certificate) to obtain driver's licenses.
http://www.analyst-network.com/article.php?art_id=1557  How many terrorists entered our country because we were so reliant on ID documents we failed to thoroughly inspect people and goods.?  The truth is we do not know and neither does or government.  It could be a relatively small number (one is too many) up to thousands.  Before we give too much credit to our government for not being attacked on our soil since 9/11 we had better consider what I have been told by counter-terrorism experts that have asked that their names not be used.  I respect that request because the message they send is what is important.  The message is it is very possible that Al-Qaeda and other terrorists organizations such as Hezbollah maybe using our unwillingness to secure our borders as a window of opportunity to bring many terrorists cells into our country in order that they may commit repeated attacks over a prolonged period of time.

10)  We should learn what the people in the United Kingdom have learned.  The Chief of police chiefs in the U.K. is opposed to what is taking place in the U.K..  We are doing the same thing objected to in the United Kingdom here in the United States.
Here is what a lawmaker in the U.K. has said http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/lawandorder/2259877/'Big-Brotherandrsquo-government-costs-us-andpound20billion.html  Keep in mind we have 6 times as many people in the U.S. as the U.K. has.  Are we going to spend $120 billion on "big brother" here.

11)  The federal government is using taxpayers money to create and implement "Big Brother" tactics.  http://www.cdt.org/security/20080118_CCTV_comments.pdf  The U.K. has 1 CCTV camera for every 12 citizens.  We are moving quickly in that direction as CCTV/surveillance (Closed Circuit Television) cameras are being installed all over the U.S..  Many cities are receiving grant money from DHS.

12)  Project Hostile Intent is not a law but a program that utilizes software to determine if the way a person dresses or behaves means they are more or less likely to present a threat.  Now we are depending on computers!  That is insane!!!  http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/08/09/no_not_the_mind_probe_again/  Project Hostile Intent is and can be used in real time http://www.apa.org/ppo/dhstestimonyfy07.pdf

13)  If you still do not believe we already living in a surveillance society consider the FBI's request for $1 billion to create the world's largest biometric database.  http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20071224-fbi-planning-worlds-largest-biometric-database.html   We have already detailed the global consequences of Real ID but also consider the article available from the following link http://news.zdnet.co.uk/emergingtech/0,1000000183,39232717,00.htm
This link only supports or position and should wake all Americans up  http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=4865890&page=1
Finally, on this topic consider the story from the following link:  http://face.nist.gov/mbgc/  This biometric challenge that taxpayer money paid for specifically was designed to test facial recognition technology with video or surveillance cameras.

14)  If you still doubt American's personal information can and is being shared with other governments that consider the stories supplied by the following links  http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/08/19/AR2008081902811.html  Robert Mocny, a Deputy Director of DHS stated we are creating a global security envelope and will share information with Europe, Asia and corporations

Representative Charles Key of Oklahoma introduced Tenth Amendment legislation that must be passed in every state.  Encourage your lawmakers to do the same in your state.  http://www.tenthamendmentcenter.com/2008/08/05/what-ever-happened-to-the-tenth-amendment/
Have your state lawmakers call Representative Charles Key at (405) 557-7354

U.S. Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma introduced legislation in the Senate we support and strongly suggest all citizens regardless of party affiliation support.  Call your Senators and Congressman and tell them you favor Senator Coburn's legislation.  The legislation requires all legislation Congress passes to have to identify the constitutional basis for that legislation.  The following comes from DownsizeDC:
Subject: More progress on the "Enumerated Powers Act"

The "Enumerated Powers Act" would force Congress to cite its Constitutional authority for every law it passes. When we last reported to you in late July this bill had 52 co-sponsors in the House, and had just been introduced in the Senate by Tom Coburn, gaining a whopping 22 co-sponsors almost immediately.

Progress has slowed since then, but there is another new co-sponsor in the House. Representative Pete Sessions of Texas came on board on July 23, 2008, just a couple of days after we last contacted Congress about this bill. Maybe some of you made the difference with Mr. Sessions, so let's keep pushing

THERE IS CURRENTLY LEGISLATION IN CONGRESS TO REPEAL THE REAL ID ACT.  WE ARE OPPOSED TO THAT LEGISLATION AS WELL.

Bills to Repeal REAL ID Introduced in House and Senate. Senators Daniel Akaka (D-HI) and John Sununu (R-NH) have introduced legislation to repeal the REAL ID Act (pdf). S. 717, the "Identification Security Enhancement Act of 2007" seeks to fix the many problems created by the REAL ID national ID scheme. S. 717, which includes Senators Patrick Leahy (D-VT) and Jon Tester (D-MT) as co-sponsors, contains strong security and privacy protections. In the House, Congressman Tom Allen (D-ME) has introduced similar legislation. H.R. 1117, the "Real ID Repeal and Identification Security Enhancement Act of 2007." (Feb. 28)

We have been working with citizens, groups and lawmakers to offer an alternative to Real ID that does not require that the federal government get involved in the issuance of State driver's licenses.  We have had discussions with the House Homeland Security Committee counsels.
We have shared everything in this document and much more.   Senator Leahy and others in the Senate at least understand Real ID should not happen or be implemented.  http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/04/02/AR2008040203147.html  We ask, What is taking the House of Representatives so long to realize Real ID is dead?

One of the most dangerous aspects of Real ID is the discretion provided the Secretary of Homeland Security to increase the restrictions/penalties (flying commercially, entering a federal facility or a nuclear facility).  This is outrageous that one person be given a blank check of this magnitude.  http://www.stoprealidcoalition.com/index2.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=12
page 17 first paragraph.  This is just one reason the Gun Owners of America are opposed to the Real ID Act.  Purchasing a gun or ammunition we believe will be added to the restrictions.

DHS says Real ID is voluntary.  Yes, they do allow for the use of alternative documents but those documents do as the Real ID license does:  They enroll Americans into a single global biometric identification system.

It was our intent by providing this document to use facts not fear mongering or other tactics some use to oppose Real ID.  We believe we have documented what we say in this document through the use of links that corroborate what we state.

We have an action plan-what citizens can and must do-The plan is included in our Real ID Biometric Fact Sheet.  The action packet is located on the left hand side of our home page under "Download Center".  Please read the document.   Real ID must be repealed, dependence on international organizations and multi-national corporations must be ended, biometrics must only be utilized with probable cause and a court order.  Existing biometric data must be wiped from databases unless it pertains to a person convicted of a felony.  This is the link to our action plan http://www.stoprealidcoalition.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=2  The federal government's insistence that States collect social security numbers under the Welfare Reform Act or for the Selective Service system must be stopped.  Social Security numbers must be kept out of databases if we truly want to decrease identity theft.  Oklahoma will be introducing legislation that addresses this issue their next legislative session.

WHEN DATBASES ARE COMPROMISED AND YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION INCLUDING YOUR BIOMETRIC DATA IS COMPROMISED THEN WHAT?  YOUR BODY IS ALL THAT IS LEFT.  A COMPANY IN MISSOURI, "SOMARK' HAS A TATTOO THAT USES THE INK TO STORE INFORMATION IN MUCH THE SAME WAY A RFID CHIP STORES INFORMATION.  THE TATTOO COMES BOTH WITH INVISIBLE AND VISIBLE INK.  http://somarkinnovations.com/  CURRENTLY THE TECHNOOGY HAS BEEN AND IS BEING USED WITH ANIMALS.

We have not intentionally violated anyone's copyrighted material.   If in fact we have violated copyright provisions please inform us.  We ask that if we have the person or group affected appreciate we are working to protect the Constitution for all.

We need your help.  We work for all citizens and will never forget that.  Thank you.
God Bless America- The greatest country on earth- A country where we the people have the power- A country where we can say no to Real ID and other foxes in sheep's clothing!!!
