The Stop Real ID Coalition along with the other members of the Constitutional Alliance are pleased to announce that we are spearheading a discussion and media event in Washington DC. about the Real ID Act 2005 and other issues related to the rights of American citizens..  This historic event will include discussion of the following subjects:

1)  Opposition to the Real ID Act or any legislation that does not originate from the states regarding the issuance of state driver's licenses.
2)  Opposition to the use/collection of biometric samples/data and DNA.  It is requested that current biometric samples/data and DNA be wiped from databases unless a person has been charged and subsequently convicted of a felony.
3)  Tenth Amendment legislation to be offered during the media/press conference to the media and public.
4)  Opposition to the sharing of any personal information of American citizens with other governments or "entities" of a foreign government without a court order which would have to include probable cause or a reasonable belief that an individual has broken a law that is relevant to the government the information is being shared with.

We, of the Stop Real ID Coalition want to be clear-Not all participants of the conference are members of the Stop Real ID Coalition or the Constitutional Alliance and thus it should NOT be construed that all participants of the conference have agreed to or support the Constitutional Alliance's mission statement.

We personally want to thank all those that have made this event a reality.  We also want to thank all the people across the country who have supported the Stop Real ID Coalition.  Many times we at the Coalition heard we could not and would not achieve our primary objective of insuring the Real ID Act 2005 would be repealed.  We were also told that opposing the use of biometrics was a wasted effort.  Many times we heard the federal government would collect and share whatever information it wanted about American citizens.  We at the Stop Real ID Coalition want each American to know they are empowered and must demand that their voice, the voice of citizens is what lawmakers must put ahead of the influence of multi-national corporations and international organizations.

Please appreciate it is not our purpose to assign blame or demonize the people that are sworn to protect our country.  We love our country and are thankful to those who protect our country.  It is our contention that there is a "culture" within the federal government that is not consistent with our Constitution.  We support the need for state driver's licenses with document integrity.  We believe driver's licenses should be issued only after supporting documents are deemed authentic.

For further in depth detail as to why we oppose the Real ID Act 2005 we provide the Real ID Biometric Fact Sheet which can be found within our Action Packet

Thank you
